Dear reader,
Once again this 11th edition of Aquabode - our periodic newsletter – contains a variety of news items that we would like to share with you. Our participation in the Europort trade show means that much attention will be paid to the maritime sector. We would also like to keep you up to date on a handful of our current ‘land based’ projects that we have realized or that are in the process of being completed.
‘Sustainable’ is a term that is often used – and misused. 15 October ’09 saw the official introduction of our project Drinking with the Wind (DWTW). DWTW produces safe drinking water from seawater or brackish water by making use of sun and wind energy, or even biogas. The system is eminently suitable for use in remote areas that lack supplies of good drinking water, but that do have plenty of wind and sun. The whole system is put together in a shipping container to create a mini water manufacturing plant that can be deployed worldwide.
DWTW has a bearing both on topical themes – and our future:
- Clean drinking water for people in locations where there is no water supply.
- Use of (undrinkable) brackish water or seawater as its basis.
- Use of wind and sun energy and/or biogas.
