Poultry slaughterhouse uses economical water

previous project   back to projects   next project

In general a poultry slaughterhouse is a large-scale water consumer. This goes also for a relation of Hatenboer-Water. Till recently this poultry slaughterer got water from waterworks. This was a heavy outline of the annual production costs, which was progressively rising. Furthermore in the Netherlands (drinking-)water of good quality is a scarce item. The poultry slaughterer never thought about using well water. As well water is high ferriferous and contains a lot of minerals, so absolutely unsuitable for the intended purpose.

In several branches - like horticulture - where use of tap water is too expensive, Hatenboer-Water is very experienced with the anaerobic treatment of brackish and/or ferriferous well water into pure low-salt water of drinking-water quality for years now.

The anaerobic purification of groundwater is based on membrane filtration with 'made-to-measure' pre and post treatment. The produced water complies with the requirements, which is demanded by the customer.

After an extended study of the possibilities the poultry slaughterhouse had decided to lease a Demitec® full-service well water treatment installation of Hatenboer-Water. The installation is designed for automatic operation. Three equal units have been delivered to our relation, produce togehter about 40 m3/hour. This modular system ensures flexibility and operational safety, also during maintenance.

Application of a Demitec® full-service installation based on purchase or lease agreement offers the following advantages:

  • significant saving on present water costs
  • no investment (in case of leasing)
  • reliable installation
  • programmed maintenance and full-service

Hatenboer-Water takes care for the total concept: drill the necessary well, sampling, design of the installation, delivery, assembly, put into operation and service. If required Hatenboer-Water looks after the finance (lease).
