Demineralized water for irrigation of cannabis cultivation

Cann Group is the first company to be issued with a Medicinal Cannabis Licence and Cannabis Research Licence by the Australian Government’s Office of Drug Control (ODC) in February 2017.  These Licences authorise Cann to cultivate and produce cannabis (in association with a relevant permit) for human medicinal and research purposes.

Desalination System

Through our partner for horticulture water treatment PB tec, we supplied a complete desalination system. The main function of Hatenboer-Water Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit is to filter out the minerals like calcium, sodium, magnesium, and chloride from city water, to achieve product water as “demineralized water”.

The demineralized water is used for irrigation of cannabis cultivation. The supplied RO, type Tiber60 easily produces up to 60 m3/hr and fills up to two storage tanks with a capacity of 302 m3/hr within 9-10 hours. Currently, Cann group is operating within 2 zones (Mother & Production plant) and the site is capable of expansion to another 8 zones. The water production by the Tiber60 will cover up to 10 zones in the future.

Remotely support

Since the RO unit started by Cann Group during COVID the commissioning was remotely supported by the Hatenboer-Water service team. Recently Cann invited us for proper RO operation and maintenance training for their entire operations team. At the end of training Cann Group was impressed with the RO unit’s production capacity, but also by the process, the ease of operation and the good & skilled training by our service engineer.
