Hatenboer-Neptunus: Who We Are
Originally a family business, the water barges of Hatenboer-Neptunus have been an established presence in the Port of Rotterdam since 1906. That year, Captain Denis Hatenboer began supplying drinking water to sea-going vessels. His sons, Piet and Adriaan Hatenboer, started working at a young age on the growing fleet of water barges and took over the company from their father 30 years later.
Over a Century Later…
More than 100 years later, the Hatenboer company has evolved into a globally recognized water treatment business. We offer a complete range of equipment, products, and services for water treatment, and, of course, we still proudly deliver high quality water. In addition to our Hatenboer-Neptunus water barges, we now operate tanker trucks for distributing drinking and demineralized water in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. We also provide containers for temporary water supply and have successfully completed numerous special projects, including the Rotterdam Marathon, emergency deliveries to the Rotterdam Kuip Arena, and servicing a wide variety of water-related needs.
Expansion to Hamburg
In 2024 Jacobsen & Cons. was acquired by Hatenboer-Water. It had been a family-owned business since 1865 with dedicated employees who are experts in their field. The German business is now run by Hatenboer-Neptunus to ensure the constant delivery of fresh drinking water in the port of Hamburg. With this step, Hatenboer-Water, in collaboration with Hatenboer-Neptunus, strengthens its position as a market leader in the
supply of clean drinking and irrigation water, affirming the commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction.
