Hatenboer-Water signs contract with Naval Group for the Replacement of the Netherlands Submarine Capability (RNSC) Program

Hatenboer-Water will supply the freshwater generators aboard the four new Orka-class submarines.

By providing their ‘Safe Water on Board’ concept, the company ensures reliable access to clean water through advanced ‘Reverse Osmosis’ water treatment systems. These are tailored to the demanding conditions of submarine operations and support operational sustainability and crew welfare, while strengthening Dutch involvement in submarine maintenance and modernization.

With this contract, Hatenboer-Water becomes part of Team Orka, strengthening the foundation for long-term national autonomy in submarine maintenance and future upgrades, while fostering deeper cooperation and knowledge-sharing between Dutch and French naval industries. In line with the Industrial Cooperation Agreement (ICA) signed by Naval Group and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, a growing network of Dutch companies contributing their expertise to the RNSC program. This know-how includes hydraulics, energy management, acoustic cladding, composite structures, detection systems and filtration, and allows the manufacture of Naval Group’s state-of-the-art submarines to meet the needs of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
