This month’s photo featured our blue bottle right in the heart of one of the world’s busiest cities. Residential high-rises surrounded by tropical greenery might not be the first image that comes to mind when you think “port city” but that’s exactly what Mumbai is. A mix of dense urban development and maritime history, Mumbai was the perfect setting for our latest stop.

Mumbai: The gateway to India’s maritime industry

As the busiest port city on India’s western coast, Mumbai is more than just a global financial capital. Handling a substantial portion of the country’s cargo traffic, it plays an important role in international trade and logistics. But behind its skyline is a longstanding connection to maritime. From the Naval Dockyard to major commercial terminals, Mumbai’s harbors are the core of India’s global connectivity, and a key location for different maritime operations.

A growing presence in India

Since April, we’ve had an experienced team working from our newly rented office in Pune, supported by two more colleagues working remotely.

The Pune team is part of the Orange QRM cell, a dedicated team formed in 2023 to meet the growing demand for experienced maritime professionals. This team, bringing over a decade of oil & gas market experience, were able to pick up projects swiftly and with our Dubai office close by, the coordination is seamless.

This cell focuses on the more complex oil & gas projects. Their knowledge of the local market, combined with the ability to locally subcontract certain production work, means they can operate with a great deal of independence.
